ENGAGING IN PEACEMAKING

Jesus declared in Matthew 5:9, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God”. As we mourn and wrestle with our nation's crisis surrounding racial injustice, we also open our hearts to the invitation to be a peacemaker. Here are a few ways we at Crazy Love are engaging in peacemaking. We invite you to join us.

INVITATION TO FAST AND PRAY

Jonathan Tremaine Thomas is a seasoned, powerful leader and founder of Civil Righteousness who has been leading in the area of racial reconciliation for several years now (he also spoke at a conference we co-hosted with Destiny Empowerment Church in 2017). We are participating in his Isaiah 58 Fast, a 21-day event in response to racial injustice. We invite you to join us and to follow along using their devotional field guide for intercession and self-reflection. The fast began on May 30, but its not too late to join in! We are also meeting daily over Zoom to read through the daily devotional and to pray together for our nation. Contact us for the Zoom link!

INVITATION TO PROCESS TOGETHER
The death of George Floyd has left our nation and our hearts in grief, confusion, and an incredible amount of pain. Next week, Heather will host an evening over Zoom where we can process our feelings in a safe space, and a time where she can pray over us, and where we can pray for each other, wherever we are in this process. If you would like to attend, please contact us!

INVITATION TO HOPE
Many of you know that Laurel and Gabriel DeLong host a monthly "Hope Walk" in Walla Walla neighborhoods. Next Monday, June 8, at 7 PM, Crazy Love is joining the DeLongs for a special Hope Walk beginning at Lincoln High School. Feel free to bring a peaceful sign centered on hope and/or prayer that you can carry while we walk in the neighborhoods surrounding Lincoln.
