Father, we turn to you now, as the Lord of the Harvest, and ask that you send laborers into the harvest. How will those around us hear without someone sharing the gospel with them and how will someone share with them unless they are sent? Oh Lord, send us in your love to those around us. Send us to those who are longing to know you. Send us to the people who need to be reconciled with you and give us the words to speak. Grant that with all boldness we may speak your word, and stretch out your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Jesus. We ask for open doors to share the gospel and divinely orchestrated opportunities to give your love away.

 

You said that those who win souls are wise. Give us wisdom in knowing how to pray for those we love and give us compassion for those around us. Empower us so that we might be well equipped to pray, reach souls, and present them to you as an offering of the nations that is pleasing and consecrated to you by the beautiful work of your Holy Spirit.

 

We recognize that just as the shepherd leaves the ninety-nine sheep to find the lost lamb, you seek lost people, and desire all people to be redeemed and reconciled to you. You do not desire that anyone should perish, but that all reach repentance, be saved, and to come to the knowledge of the truth. We want to know your shepherd’s heart. Light a holy fire of love within us and may we be moved by your compassion.

 

Jesus, you said that when you are lifted up, you would draw all people to yourself. We ask that you draw people to yourself right now. We pray for those around us to begin to desire you and seek you. Let the knowledge of your glory cover the earth as the waters cover the sea. Arise oh Lord, and let your name be lifted up, and may you receive your just reward for the suffering you endured- your inheritance in the nations, the ends of the earth as your possession.

 

It is your kindness that leads to repentance. We pray that you would reveal and demonstrate your kindness to those around us. We pray for an awakening of their hearts. We understand your kingdom is full of grace and it is your kingdom’s presence that initiates repentance. We ask for your kingdom to come to those around us and may they find grace in your sight. We pray for them to have a revelation of your love and ask that you bring conviction of sin and awareness of their need for a savior.

 

We ask for the keys of the kingdom of heaven and the authority to bring the kingdom of God to earth through prayer. You promised that whatever is bound on earth would be bound in heaven, and whatever is loosed on earth will be loosed in heaven. We recognize that the god of this age has blinded the minds of those who do not believe to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel. We break the power of every dark influence on those we love, we bind every lie keeping them from you, let them be torn down, and we bind the darkness that has kept them believing the truth of your love. We loose your kingdom, your mercy, and your lovingkindness upon them. We ask that you open the eyes of those around us, give them understanding, clarity of mind, revelation, and let them know what you’ve done for them, and give them a gift of faith that they might believe and trust in you. Open their hearts and let them respond to your gospel.

 

Lord, help us to be faithful and persistent in praying for those around us. Give us tenacity and a never-give-up spirit. Remind us of their faces during the day and the night. We ask for souls, we seek wisdom, and we knock on the door of your heart. Hear our cry for souls. Hear this prayer for those we love. We join with the prayer of John Hyde, “Give me souls lest I die.” As we pray today, give us an assurance that you have heard our prayer.

 

Jesus, you promised that the Holy Spirit will lead us into all truth and tell us things to come. Pour out your latter rain, pour out your Spirit, let your Spirit intercede for us with groanings too deep for words. Let your Spirit be our helper in praying for the harvest. We ask for sensitivity and grace to follow your leading. Help us when we are weak and don’t know what to pray.
